Pillars of Islam
Islam is based on five pillars which the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has explained for us. The Prophet said: “Islam is built upon five [pillars]: the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; establishing regular prayer (salah); paying the zakah; Hajj (pilgrimage) and fasting Ramadan.” (Agreed upon; narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 8) Islam is both belief and laws, in which Allah and His Messenger have told us what is halal and what is haram, morals and good manners, acts of worship and how to interact with people, rights and duties, and scenes of the resurrection. When Allah completed this religion, He chose it to be the way of life for all of mankind until the Hour begins: “This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [al-Maidah 5:3 – interpretation of the meaning]

To Believe in no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet.

To Believe in no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet.

To Believe in no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet.

To Believe in no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet.

To Believe in no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet.

Our Story
From Dream to Reality: Unity Islamic Center Takes Root in Morton Grove
In 2017, a powerful vision bloomed in Morton Grove: a center that unites people across backgrounds. With no existing community space, we embarked on a journey fueled by our collective spirit. Now, thanks to the incredible support of our community, a former church is transforming into the Unity Islamic Center. This will be more than just a place of worship. It will be a vibrant hub where people of all faiths and walks of life can connect. Imagine children’s laughter echoing through welcoming halls, seniors finding solace and companionship, and young adults seeking guidance in a supportive environment. Join us in building this beacon of unity and diversity. Together, we’ll write the next chapter of this inspiring story. Thank you for being a part of it.

In 2017, a powerful vision took root in Morton Grove: to establish a space that brings people together across backgrounds and beliefs. With no existing community center, we embarked on a journey powered by unity, compassion, and determination. Through the unwavering support of our community, a former church is now being transformed into the Unity Islamic Center — a place built on inclusion, service, and shared values.
Our Mission
We envision the Unity Islamic Center as more than just a place of worship. It will be a vibrant, welcoming hub for all — where children’s laughter fills the halls, seniors find comfort and companionship, and young adults discover mentorship and purpose. Our doors will be open to people of all faiths and walks of life, fostering meaningful connections, understanding, and community growth. Together, we’re creating a lasting legacy of unity and diversity.
Support us, we need your help.
